Nemo, the silent pilot the player controls, is more than a new recruit: he is an artificial intelligence created by the Neucom researcher Simon Orestes Cohen, and the war he flies through is not what it seems.
Abyssal Dision is a sublimated copy of a man who died in 2030. He leads Ouroboros, and in every route he draws Rena Hirose into the cockpit of the X-49 Night Raven.
The Fitzgerald sisters end up on opposite sides more than once: Fiona can defect to Neucom to join Cynthia, while Cynthia herself is eventually drawn to Ouroboros and the promise of sublimation.
